Our project proposal titled "Portable Magnetic Particle Spectroscopy (MPS) Platform for On-field Detection of Influenza A Virus and Mycoplasma Hyopneumoniae" is recently awarded $414,999 by National Institute of Food and Agriculture. This project is led by: Prof. Jian-Ping Wang (PI), Prof. Maxim C. Cheeran (co-PI), Prof. Maria Pieters (co-I), Dr. Kai Wu (co-I), Dr. Venkatramana D Krishna (co-I). There are four major goals in this project:

Goal 1: Development of a handheld MPS bioassay device with user interface.

Goal 2: Application of MPS handheld platform and bench-top system for the detection of IAV and MHYOP.

Goal 3: Validation of MPS platform for monitoring of IAV and MHYOP using field samples.

Goal 4: Application of MPS platform for detecting SARS-CoV-2.
